Our topic at the moment is People Who Help Us. We had a visit from the local Police and NIFRS to teach us about people who help us in our local community.
World book day
On 1st March we celebrated world book day. Our theme was 'Around the World in 80 books'. We wrote a letter to Andrew Trimble (Ireland and Ulster rugby player) and Lauren Graham, a local author. They both wrote back to us to tell us about their favourite books as children. We dressed up as a book character of our choice and had a fun filled literacy day in our classroom. Take a look at...
Our Buddy Read
In Year 1 we love meeting up with our buddies for a variety of activities. For Christmas they made us all a special Christmas card and came to visit us with a Christmas gift of a book which they read to us in class. We really enjoyed our morning and are looking forward to our next Buddy activity.

Autumn Walk.
To help us think about Autumn we put our Welly boots on and went for an Autumn walk. We had a look to see how the season is changing. We founds lots of signs of Autumn along the way, we even spied a little grey squirrel.
Grandparents day
On Friday 29th October we opened our doors to all our grandparents. The assembly hall was filled with people enjoying tea and a bun while raising over £800 for Macmillan Cancer! Our Grandparents were able to visit our classrooms to see us busy at work.
Outdoor Learning Day
Outdoor learning day is a day to inspire and celebrate outdoor learning and play. On Thursday 12th October thousands of schools around the world took the classroom outdoors. Here are some pictures to show what we how we used the outdoors to stimulate our learning.
